At Park House Medical Centre we would like to improve the communication we have with our patients. We want to make sure you can read and understand the information we send you so please inform us if you have information or communication needs. We will also try to accommodate your needs if you have difficulty hearing.

Our car park has recently been completely changed. This has been done due to vast amount of complaints NHS England received with complaints of cars being blocked in, hit and the ambulance bay being blocked in. Although they have taken away a number of parking bays it is now safer and we have more disabled bays. Unfortunately we cannot do anything if there are no parking bays when you arrive at the car park, inside our building there are 2 GP surgeries and numerous clinics upstairs which means high amount of patients and staff at all times. We can only advise that you set off with plenty of time before an appointment giving enough time to find somewhere to park so you aren't late for your appointment and turned away. Thank you for your co-operation.
If you take warfarin medication and attend an anti-coagulation clinic you must show your yellow book every time you order your medication, whether you attend our clinic or the hospital, Not doing so could impact you receiving your medication on time or it not being sent electronically to the pharmacy.
Important information from the partners re; appointments:
As a response to your concerns regarding a lack of appointments, the practice arranged to have daily emergency appointments. However these appointments are for EMERGENCIES only with the doctors addressing ONE problem at a time. We would also like to ask our patients to inform the reception staff what the emergency problem is.
A high number of our patients have signed up to the Electronic Prescribing System where the prescription is sent electronically to the nominated pharmacy. As the prescription is sent straight to the pharmacy patients haven't got access to their right hand side of their prescription to know when their medication review is due and do read important practice information. Even though we have asked pharmacies to ensure that patients receive their right hand side of the prescription we know that a large amount of patients still don't. If your prescriptions are sent electronically could you please remember to ask the pharmacy for the right hand side back to you know when your medication & other reviews are due as it is extremely important that you attend your medication review or your medication could be stopped until you attend an appointment. If you have your medication/chronic disease reviews please remember to put it in your diary/calendar when you are next due and make an appointment. The appointment should be with Nurse Jenny McDermott or Nurse Sue Watson - Thank you.
We are no longer having posters around the surgery on walls and the glass as this looks unprofessional and I think you will agree the glass looks far better now on reception.
We will be having the main board in reception dedicated to Practice Information, for up to date information please take time to read.
We will be dedicating the notice board by the clinicians doors to 1 problem each month.

Did you know you are able to have limited access to the following medical records online through ‘Patient Access’:
- Medication history
Please ask for your unique log in details at reception, you must show a form of ID for your log in details or you will not be able to have them.
You can also book, cancel and amend appointments as well as order your prescriptions.

On average we experience 50 missed appointments a week, this is not acceptable. We have a 3 Missed Appointments (Did not attend:DNA) policy, if you miss 3 appointments within a 12 month period you will be removed from our list.
Please make sure you contact us to cancel your appointment, you can use our automated service and patient access to cancel your appointments also.
We are no longer accepting results over the phone, If the doctor wishes to speak to you regarding your result we will contact you. The reception staff are no longer allowed to give any result over the phone.

INFORMATION REGARDING TEST RESULTS:
The doctor or nurse will inform you of what tests have been taken. If any of the tests are not normal you will be contacted with the result and management. Rest assurred that all tests are looked at carefully. If you have not been contacted you may assume that your tests are normal.
This will reduce the amount of phone calls to the surgery and therefore increase the chances of patients getting through in a timely manner.
